About Us » NMHPA News 2009 Most Endangered Places Selected New Mexico Heritage Preservation Alliance Will Announce Most Recently Nominated and Accepted ‘Most Endangered Places in New Mexico’ The New Mexico Heritage Preservation Alliance (NMHPA) will announce the most recently nominated and accepted ‘Most Endangered Places in New Mexico’, on Saturday, November 14 at 2 pm at the Coronado State Monument located in Bernalillo, New Mexico on State Highway 550/44, 1.7 miles west of Interstate 25 (Exit 242 to Kuaua Road). Four New Mexico locations will be added to the list which has included more than 60 existing endangered places since its inception in 1999. NMHPA is committed to protecting and advocating for New Mexico’s heritage which includes protecting areas that are endangered. Endangered areas are considered areas that have been adversely affected by neglect, abandonment, urban sprawl, inappropriate zoning, and natural weathering.
