Waterworks Building, Silver City (Grant County)

UPDATE: The Town of Silver City had the Waterworks assessed for hazardous materials as part of the Brownfields program, and a small amount of asbestos and large amount of lead paint were found. Currently there is an application in to the EPA for a clean-up grant, which would address the asbestos aspect first. The Town has agreed to provide a match, if funded. All of the remediation work would have had to be tackled eventually, so we're hoping to take care of it with EPA's help. Unfortunately none of it will address the major building's stabilization issues (roof, pump room floor, etc.).
